10th Anniversary Survey
2022 marks the 10th anniversary of UltraViolet's first campaign, back in 2012. So much has changed in the past 10 years, but there's still so much work to do.
While we're almost always focused on the ways we can continue to fight sexism, we want to make sure we properly celebrate the impact we've made together over the last decade.
Here are some highlights:
- Held the Komen Foundation accountable for defunding Planned Parenthood’s breast health program.
- Cost Rush Limbaugh millions in advertiser revenue.
- Pushed the NFL to release a new policy to prevent domestic violence and hold players accountable for their violent or abusive behavior.
- Held Judge Persky in California accountable for protecting rapist Brock Turner.
- Helped lead a campaign to hold Breonna Taylor’s murderers accountable.
- Pushed social media platforms to change policies in response to our campaigns:
- Facebook put protections in place for poll workers following our demand.
- Reddit changed their hate speech policy to include misogyny.
- Instagram put “Instagram Kids” on pause.
- Held high-profile abusers accountable: Bill O’Reilly, Harvey Weinstein, Les Moonves, Steve Wynn, Andrew Cuomo, Chris Cuomo.
- Showed up for critical federal policy fights, whether to stop the attempt to overturn the ACA, to expand Violence Against Women Act protections to Indigenous women, center women of color in Covid relief and Build Back Better, or introduce new legislation to end sexual violence at work.
We'd love to hear how you'd like to celebrate and mark this anniversary with us. Please fill out this short survey to let us know.
