Send a Gratitude Note to Vice President Kamala Harris
After Vice President Kamala Harris broke countless glass ceilings throughout her career in California, she became this country's first woman vice president, and then the first woman of color to run as a presidential candidate for one of this country's two major political parties.
She and all of us stand on the shoulders of the Black women who paved the way for her historic candidacy, from abolitionists like Harriet Tubman to civil rights warriors like Fannie Lou Hamer and the first woman presidential candidate of any major party, Shirley Chisholm. We're grateful to those who organized the Black Women for Harris call and everyone who attended to help raise $40 million for Vice President Harris and catalyze the most diverse coalition of supporters for any presidential candidate in our nation's history.
We know that this is just the beginning, not the end, and we are grateful to Vice President Harris for laying the groundwork along with our ancestors. Please take a moment to write her a note of appreciation--or any message you'd like to share with her.
