Twitter's abuse problem

Twitter's abuse problem

Tell Twitter CEO Dick Costolo:

"Harassment, abuse, and threats of violence have no place on Twitter. Overhaul your abuse policies to stop serial harassers from threatening women.
    Not ? Click here.

Women—and especially women of color—face a barrage of sexist and racist harassment on a daily basis just for standing up for gender equality. Just this week, prominent feminist video game critic Anita Sarkeesian was forced to cancel her speech at the University of Utah because death threats on Twitter turned into a real life school shooting threat. Twitter has refused to address the issue of harassment, abuse, and violence on its platform.

Instead, it's had the audacity to put the blame back on the women impacted by saying things like "don't respond to the abuser." Or even worse, Twitter actually says these rape and death threats aren't breaking its rules. That's just ludicrous! If rape and death threats like "die feminist moron, i'm coming after u and raping u" aren't breaking the rules, then it's time we overhaul those rules.
