Demand that Congress withdraw the military from Los Angeles now

The petition to Congress reads:

Don’t let Trump’s abuse of power go unchecked. Withdraw the military from Los Angeles now.

Donald Trump has crossed a line no other president in modern U.S. history has dared to cross.

He just deployed thousands of National Guard troops and hundreds of active duty-Marines to Los Angeles--without the consent of California’s governor, Gavin Newsom. What began as a violent immigration raid quickly escalated into a militarized occupation of an American city.

What’s happening in Los Angeles can happen in any city next, which is why Congress must act now. If Congress doesn’t immediately withdraw the military from Los Angeles, it will legitimize Trump’s actions and send a dangerous signal to his authoritarian cronies. Congress can’t give Trump an inch. He will take a mile.
