Tell Hospitals to Stand Strong Against Witch Hunt Subpoenas

The petition to hospitals reads:

Gender-affirming care is lifesaving care. Do not comply with the Trump administration's requests to hand over sensitive and personal information about minors seeking gender-affirming health care and the medical professionals who provide it.

The Trump administration's Department of Justice has issued more than 20 subpoenas demanding that hospitals turn over information about gender-affirming care given to minors. The subpoenas demand highly sensitive information about patients, including birth dates and Social Security numbers, as well as names of providers and all notes and records on the patient.

This unprecedented invasion into patient privacy is part of a witch hunt intended to bully hospitals into ending their gender-affirming care programs for trans youth, and to terrify patients away from seeking lifesaving care. We need hospitals to stand strong against the Trump administration's attacks on trans youth.
