    R Kelly

If there is one man who has expertly, repeatedly, evaded accountability for his sexual crimes, its R&B superstar R.Kelly.

Kelly's crimes have been known for years--at least 12 counts of child pornography, several charges of statutory rape, domestic abuse, illegally marrying a minor, and, as recently as last year, assaulting a teenage girl. Yet the music industry has stood by him again and again, helping him use his still-flourishing career to prey on Black teen girls.

    R. Kelly is back in the headlines again because brave survivors of his crimes came together in an explosive new documentary series on Lifetime, "Surviving R. Kelly," to publicly reveal the full scale of his abuse. It is time we listen to them and believe Black women. It is time we #MuteRKelly.

The uproar "Surviving R. Kelly" is causing may just be enough to force his record label, RCA Records, to drop him. That's why UltraViolet is joining forces with big names like Ava DuVernay, John Legend, and champion activists like Tarana Burke in demanding RCA Records stop protecting Kelly and drop him for his multiple crimes against Black women and girls. Will you join too?
