The petition to your members of Congress reads:

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr is trying to stop TV talk shows from talking about politics and elections. And unsurprisingly, he seems to be disproportionately targeting shows that pose a perceived threat to the Trump administration.

The FCC’s latest target? "The View," the most-watched daytime talk show in America, is hosted by an all-women panel and watched by millions of women.

The FCC is investigating "The View" to determine if it broke the "equal time" rule because it had a Democratic candidate on as a guest but didn’t give airtime to other candidates running for the same seat. But "The View" is a daytime talk show that has long been exempt from the "equal time" rule, just as many other shows like it. Now, the FCC is collecting public comments to decide whether "The View" should keep its "equal time" exemption. We can’t let the FCC delegitimize ‘The View’ and control what the show covers by taking the exemption away.

We urge you to make sure "The View" keeps its "equal time" exemption.

If the FCC takes the exemption away, it would set a dangerous precedent and give the federal government even more power to stop the show and others like it from ever talking to political candidates again. We're asking you to speak out, stop the FCC's sexist attack on ‘The View,’ and protect women's access to news and free speech on TV. A call or email from you to the FCC could make a huge difference.

Trump’s government is trying to punish “The View”  a talk show led by women, for women for talking about politics.

You read that right. Trump’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr, a Trump loyalist hell-bent on destroying the free press, is trying to strip "The View" of a legal exemption the FCC itself granted the show more than 20 years ago — one that allows it to cover candidates and elections without being subject to the "equal time" rule. If he succeeds, the show would face an impossible choice: host every candidate running for every office, or stop covering politics altogether. This isn't a regulatory dispute. It's a shutdown strategy.

Trump has spent his time in office making clear that women's voices are a threat  silencing public media, berating and insulting women journalists by name, and now coming for "The View."

To Trump and Carr, we say ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Demand Congress defend free speech and protect "The View."
