Sign the petition: YouTube and TikTok must ban this misogynist
Urge TikTok and YouTube to follow Twitch’s lead and remove Adin Ross for his repeated instances of misogyny, racism, and transphobia.
When notorious, self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate was arrested for human trafficking and sexual assault, social media star Adin Ross went on a rant, calling the women who Tate had assaulted “bitch[es]" and saying "they deserve to go to jail forever."
Ross is known for streaming on a popular video game site called Twitch and he has millions of followers on social media sites like TikTok and YouTube– where he also makes money based on how many views he gets. Most of his fans are boys and young men who love video games. But, Ross uses his platforms and star status to share racist, misogynistic, and transphobic hate to indoctrinate his followers.
Why is this important?
The video game industry is on the verge of a crisis, with dire consequences for the entire country. Vulnerable youth, who are at risk of falling prey to extremist misogynistic white supremacist groups, are being lured in by the industry's pervasive culture of misogyny.
Adin Ross is a racist and misogynistic gamer who draws inspiration from the likes of misogynist Andrew Tate. He uses his platform to spread hate. We must act now to demand that TikTok and YouTube remove his content immediately.
Recently, Ross got banned from Twitch because he violated the gaming site’s hate speech policies. Despite being dropped by Twitch, Ross still has access to his YouTube and TikTok accounts where he reaches many millions of followers. His videos include collaborations with sexual assaulter Andrew Tate, posts saying that he wants to be able to say racial slurs, transphobic comments, and a video where he tried to pay people money to "act Black."
Social media stars can serve as role models for their followers, but Adin Ross shouldn't be one of them. Ross used to be known for posting more positive content and for raising money for non-profits including LGBTQ+ organizations. But last year he became inspired by Andrew Tate and was quoted as saying that Tate "put stuff in my head" and had been a major influence on him and his content. In December 2022, Ross said that Tate had changed his views on masculinity and how to become a role model and that he would no longer be posting "female-oriented" content.
Since then, Ross has posted countless controversial videos on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok that have shown him to be a bad influence and a poor role model for teen boys. Both TikTok and YouTube have banned Ross's mentor, Andrew Tate, now it's time for them to ban Ross too.
