GoFundMe is still supporting ICE terror
The email to GoFundMe decision makers reads:
In just the first month of 2026, the violent tactics of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have escalated, with agents in Minnesota shooting and killing two people in cold blood over the course of two weeks, Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti.
Good's murder has officially been deemed a homicide by the Hennepin County coroner's office. Yet fundraisers, one reaching nearly $800,000 for her killer Jonathan Ross, are still active on your platform. That is beyond unacceptable. Will GoFundMe help people raise money for Pretti's killer, too?
GoFundMe's terms of service 8.8 and 8.10 give you the power to take down the fundraisers for Ross and to block any future campaign that supports violence or terror, including from ICE. We urge you to swiftly remove these fundraisers and prevent new campaigns for these ICE killers from launching. Continuing to take a percentage of the funds raised for these killers and their victims is immoral, unethical and bad for business. As customers and consumers, we urge you to be on the right side of history and show us that you can be trusted to enforce your own policies by taking down and banning these fundraisers once and for all.
Please let us know how you plan to resolve this issue.
We woke up this morning feeling overwhelmed with emotion and pissed off.
Our hearts are broken for Alex Pretti and his family. For Minnesota. For the immigrants and people of color across the country who are too afraid to leave their homes. For all of us witnessing a racist and fascist administration blatantly lying to justify its violence.
As organizers, our job is to help channel that energy into action. So when we did our daily check to see if GoFundMe had taken down its fundraiser for Renee Good's killer, our pain and anger turned into resolve. Not only was it still up, but it had raised nearly $800,000 for Jonathan Ross. We can't let this stand. Not today. Not ever.
What we need is accountability for ICE killers like Ross. What we don't need is a corporation like GoFundMe profiting from our pain and legitimizing state-sanctioned terror. Send a message directly to GoFundMe decision makers now. Your message will be emailed to them in real-time.
