Tell Big Tech: Stop spreading disinformation about pro-abortion ballot initiatives!

The petition to Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO; Linda Yaccarino, X (formerly Twitter) CEO, Neal Mohan, YouTube CEO, and Shou Zi Chew, TikTok CEO, reads:

Ballot initiatives to expand abortion access and enshrine abortion rights in state constitutions are working to protect access to necessary care across the country.

Why is this important?

But, we need Big Tech, including Meta, X (formerly Twitter), Youtube, and TikTok, to take the threat of disinformation seriously before anti-choice operatives succeed at confusing and preventing people from using their voice and their vote to protect their bodily autonomy. These companies must:

Remove false information about pro-abortion ballot initiatives, threats against candidates and voters supporting these initiatives, and threats against election workers.
Stop the spread of false medical information about abortion and the specifics of pro-abortion ballot initiatives.
Increase transparency around the platforms' moderation decisions, staffing, and use of user data.
