Apple: Stop helping Andrew Tate promote misogyny

The petition to Tim Cook, Apple CEO, reads:

Andrew Tate is a misogynistic far-right extremist who is recruiting young men to join a dangerous pyramid scheme through his "The Real World" app. We demand that Apple follow Google's lead and immediately remove “The Real World” from its App Store.

    Why is this important?

This week, Google removed Tate’s "The Real World" app, formerly known as “Hustler’s University,” from the Google Play app store for violating its policies and in response to allegations of Tate running a pyramid scheme through the app.

But Tate’s toxic app is still available for download on Apple’s App Store--meaning it’s still accessible for over 50% of smartphone users in the U.S. alone. This is unacceptable.

Along with our partners, UltraViolet has pushed for TikTok, YouTube, Meta, and X (formerly known as Twitter) to ban Tate and his content from social media. Now, with Google's decision to pull Tate's app, we're zeroing in on Apple. As the phone manufacturer with the most market share in the U.S. and much of Europe, we know that if Apple takes down Tate's app, then his reach and ability to target young men and boys around the world will shrink significantly.

Tate uses images and videos of boys as young as six to promote "The Real World" app by making them promises of finding a community and becoming a teen millionaire. Teen boys who join "The Real World" for a monthly subscription fee are then exposed to misogynistic content that celebrates assault, degrades women, and is ripe with homophobic and transphobic hate. It's long past time for Apple to drop "The Real World" from the App Store and cut ties with a misogynist who is not only indoctrinating young men and boys but also financially exploiting them. Add your name to demand Apple remove Andrew Tate's "The Real World" app from its App Store.
