Mississippi is on the brink of passing the most restrictive abortion ban in the country--and we only have a few weeks to stop it.

Last month, Mississippi’s House of Representatives voted to ban abortion after 15 weeks, significantly reducing access to abortion in the state and threatening jail time for doctors who perform the procedure.

Republican Governor Phil Bryant said he's determined to make Mississippi the first state to ban abortion entirely, and this bill puts him one step closer towards his dream. Now it’s up to the State Senate to stop this bill.

Mississippi isn't the first ultra-conservative state to try and pass a restrictive abortion law--in recent years, advocates, community groups, and UltraViolet members successfully stopped similarly awful bills in North Dakota and Arkansas, and in Congress. If we speak out again, we can save women's constitutional right to access abortion.
