To Senator Mitch McConnell
There is no place for sexism in politics. The tweet sent out by members of your staff that featured Alison Lundergan Grimes photoshopped onto a scantily clad body is unacceptable. We call on you to publicly apologize immediately.

The face of a female politician photoshopped onto the body of a scantily clad, love-struck "Obama Girl." Seems like the kind of crude, juvenile joke you'd expect from your run-of-the-mill sexist Internet troll who doesn't have a whole team of advisors, right?
And yet, that is exactly what the political director of Sen. Mitch McConnell--the Minority Leader of the US Senate who is running for re-election in Kentucky--actually posted on Twitter about his female opponent, Alison Lundergan Grimes.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee has had the good sense to condemn the "extremely offensive" sexist attack on Grimes, but McConnell's campaign has refused to apologize. In fact, they've called the outrage over it "really pathetic."
Election season hasn't even started yet. We have to nip these sexist attacks in the bud NOW and show candidates like Sen. McConnell sexism has no place in politics.
