Tell Louisiana State University to expel rapist Damien Shanklin

Tell Louisiana State University to expel rapist Damien Shanklin

The petition to Louisiana State University President Dr. Wade Rousse, Chancellor and Executive Vice President Dr. James Dalton, the Board of Supervisors, and Public Relations Coordinator Zach Labbé reads:

As women, survivors of sexual violence, advocates, and allies, we are calling for justice for Louisiana State University (LSU) student Kendall Francis, who has bravely come forward with rape allegations against one of the university's football players, Damien Shanklin. We believe Francis and urge you to take immediate steps to expel Shanklin from the university.

The university and Title IX investigation found him responsible for 'forcible rape.' Yet, Shanklin is still able to move freely on campus, take classes, and remain on the football team. That is completely unacceptable. Francis and student survivors like her should be able to learn and live on campus without fear of interacting with a student found responsible for 'forcible rape.' Protect LSU students and staff. Expel Shanklin immediately.

Because our institutions failed her miserably, Louisiana State University (LSU) student Kendall Francis, who was found by LSU to have been "forcibly raped" by a star football player, had to take her story to TikTok to get the justice she deserves. Why? Because, despite the university's own findings, Francis's abuser, Damien Shanklin, still walks freely on campus today.

We are sick and tired of this. From Cornell to LSU, colleges have got to get their sh*t together when it comes to protecting students from sexual violence. Sign and share the petition to tell LSU leadership to expel Shanklin immediately!
