Tell Spotify: Drop Russell Brand.

The petition to Spotify reads:

Russell Brand is an accused serial sexual predator who has spread false and misleading medical information on his podcast that violates Spotify's dangerous content policies. We urge you to drop Brand's podcast and cut all ties with him. Giving Brand a megaphone to spread lies about medical science and enabling his toxic behavior is completely unacceptable.

On May 2, celebrity influencer Russell Brand is expected to face sexual assault charges brought by three U.K. women and a rape allegation brought by a fourth. Brand is trying to hide behind a sexual addiction and a recent conversion to Christianity to avoid accountability, but we're not buying it. Survivors deserve justice.

Sexual violence is about power and control, and many celebrities get away with abusing women by using their money and status as a shield. There's no doubt that Brand is monetizing the content he produces on Spotify. In most podcast episodes, he shills for Rumble, a right-wing platform and hotbed for hate speech and disinformation. The money he earns gives him even more power to continue his toxic behavior. Spotify should have no part in that.

Additionally, Spotify's dangerous content policies prohibit false or deceptive medical information on the platform. Yet Brand's podcast includes several episodes that promote harmful lies about COVID-19, mask mandates, and vaccines.

Let's be clear: Medical research and advancements like vaccines have saved hundreds of millions of lives across the world and are considered safeguards against pandemics. If anything, vaccine skeptics like Brand are endangering the lives of children, who are dying today from once-eradicated illnesses such as the measles.

Spotify should not be profiting from or promoting extremists like Brand, who are putting the public's health at risk. Tell Spotify to cut all ties with Russell Brand!
