Lawmakers in Florida recently passed an abortion ban —and it's brought to you with funding from Disney.

Disney prides itself on being a forward-thinking company and wants you to believe that, too. But while it makes millions in profit off of young girls’ and women’s dreams, its political contributions are funding the decimation of their rights. The entertainment giant has spoken against other anti-abortion bills, thanks to public pressure from activists like UltraViolet members. Once again, if enough of us band together, we can force the corporate giant to speak out against this bill and remove tens of thousands of dollars from the campaign coffers of anti-abortion lawmakers.

Disney’s credibility is on the line.

In a letter to shareholders, Disney’s CEO, Bob Chapek, claimed that "making a positive difference in our world is part of our DNA as storytellers, and it also guides how we conduct ourselves." But that could not be further from the truth.

During the 2020 election cycle alone, the company donated more than $200,000 to anti-abortion politicians and lawmakers, with more than half of donations going to Florida lawmakers. 

If this Florida bill becomes law, the impacts will be devastating. Already, we are seeing a maternal health crisis in Black and brown communities. And these abortion bans only exacerbate maternal mortality rates.

That’s why it is so important to dry up the money flowing to anti-abortion politicians from companies like Disney.
