The rap star and mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs was recently sued under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law in a Manhattan federal court. This is the fourth survivor to come forward with serious allegations of sexual assault by Combs in the span of three weeks, not to mention others who are taking to social media to corroborate the claims.

Thanks to decades of advocacy and culture change led by survivors of sexual violence, almost every one of Combs's brands has dropped him. Yet, just last month, the Grammys handed Combs his first ever nomination as a lead artist in one of the two R&B album categories.  

It takes a great deal of courage to share traumatizing and intimate stories against a powerful individual. We believe in survivors, and we have their backs! 

The UltraViolet community has always supported survivors, and we've helped hold many abusers accountable: music producer Dr. Luke, R&B artist R. Kelly, music mogul Russell Simmons, and more.

It's time that the Grammys and the music industry more broadly clean up their acts, once and for all. The award show draws millions of viewers every year--perpetrators of sexual abuse shouldn't be invited or showcased on such a massive stage. Survivors deserve better.
