Tell Bumble: If you care about women, you'll protect our private data
The petition to Bumble reads:
Users deserve to know what you do with their data. Protect users and provide transparency about data-sharing.
Why is this important?
Dating apps collect VAST amounts of intimate details about their users--everything from sexual preferences to precise locations.
Bumble, the dating app that claims to be women-centered, is leaving users in the dark about what it does with our personal information. Users go on these apps looking for connection and love, only to become data gold mines for dating app companies like Bumble.
This data falling into the wrong hands can come with terrifying consequences, especially for people seeking reproductive health care, survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV), and members of the LGBTQ+ community--at a time when our rights are under heightened attack.
That's why UltraViolet has joined Mozilla and a number of other privacy, public interest, and gender justice organizations to express our concerns over Bumble's privacy practices.
We need you to help our demands reach Bumble. Will you add your name now?
