Negotiate the safe release of WNBA star Brittney Griner!

Why is this important?

Earlier this year, WNBA star Brittney Griner was detained in Russia, where she was traveling to play basketball, a common off-season move that many WNBA athletes must make given the gender-based income inequality in sports.

Now, the U.S. government has officially determined that Griner is being "wrongfully detained," which means the Biden administration can actively negotiate for her release.

The Russian government is notorious for human rights abuses, especially against multiethnic populations and LGBTQ+ people. Griner is in grave danger there as a Black, queer woman. We must bring her home!
