As a concerned citizen and voter, I urge you to hold the Department of Justice (DOJ) accountable for failing to release all the Epstein files, with minimal required redactions, as mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act. I also call on you to publicly release the files you have access to immediately.

This demand stems from the deep betrayal and injustice felt by the American public knowing that the DOJ has not complied with the Epstein Files Transparency Act by the December 19 deadline. Thanks to the actions of Congress and, in large part, your committee, all files were legally required to be released by this date, with only minimal required redactions. That is not what happened.

As you are aware, U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that the Department of Justice will not meet the deadline to fully release the Epstein files as required by law under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The fact that files are still being covered up beyond the minimal redactions that survivors demanded is absolutely deplorable, illegal, unacceptable, and an insult to Congress.

Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell abused at least 1,000 women--many of whom were girls at the time of their abuse--over a period of at least a decade. These women deserve more than what was delivered today, and the public deserves more than what was delivered today.

It bears repeating that child abuse is not and should never be a partisan issue. As you know, Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act unanimously in the Senate, and all but one representative voted to release the files in the House of Representatives. This continued obscuration of the truth is a subversion of democracy and an injustice to the bipartisan actions of your committee, of Congress, and of our country.

Please take urgent action to hold the DOJ accountable for failing to adhere to the law and Congress, including launching an investigation into the agency’s illegal inaction. We also call on you to publicly release all of the Epstein files you have access to immediately.

Today is a big day for those of us who care about ending sexual violence. It's the day that all case files related to the late child sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein were finally set to be released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, with minimal required redactions. Unfortunately, that's not what happened.

While we now have access to more files than ever before--a true testament to the tenacity and resilience of Epstein's survivors--U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that the Department of Justice will not meet the deadline to fully release the Epstein files as required by law under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. This is a slap in the face to survivors everywhere.
