Call Congress to get protective equipement for nurses fighting the coronavirus

Garbage bags. Office supplies. Swim goggles. And diapers.

These are just some of the things healthcare workers are being forced to use to protect themselves from the coronavirus.

Donald Trump has the power under the Defense Production Act to order an increase in production of critical supplies like masks, gloves, ventilators, face shields, and more. But he has refused thanks to lobbying from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, whose leadership includes massive corporations like Bayer, Citi, ExxonMobile, Facebook, Google, Pepsi, and Uber.

But, right now we have a chance to make him do the right thing.

The Medical Supply Chain Emergency Act, would legally force Trump to increase production of vital supplies like masks, ventilators, and gloves. It already has bipartisan support in the House of Representatives so there’s a good chance that with enough public support, we can get enough votes for it to pass.

Can you take a moment to urge Congress to get nurses the PPE they need?
