Your message to the U.S. Senate:
"It's outrageous that the Senate would hold a hearing on military sexual assault without hearing from survivors themselves. The Senate must listen to the testimony of survivors and pass real reform that will take these cases out of the chain of command."

Remember when conservatives in Congress held a hearing on birth control and didn't allow a single woman to testify?
Recently, the Senate held a hearing on the national crisis of sexual assault in the military--and didn't hear from one single survivor of sexual assault. The Senate committee invited 2 supporters of reform and 18 opponents--a dangerously lopsided ratio that doesn't reflect public opinion.
Deja vu all over again.
There's a big national spotlight on the issue on military sexual assault right now--everyone from the President, to members of both parties in Congress, to military leaders know it's a problem. If we show the Senate how outraged we are that they are ignoring survivors and listening instead to military brass who oppose any real reform, we can push them to pass the right solutions. Can you sign the petition demanding the senate allow testimony from servicewomen who have survived sexual assault in the military?
