Despite all the progress women athletes have made, corporate media outlets can't help themselves from covering their achievements in the most sexist ways--from NBC headlines that blare, "Olympic Beach Volleyball: Great Bodies, Bikinis and More,” or commentators asking if women gymnasts have had "any diva moments" yet--something they won't ask about male competitors.
But Nike is changing that. Their amazing "Voices" ad campaign features female athletes and the prejudices they face. This is a big departure from the sexist coverage that women athletes usually face.
Can you add your name to the card thanking Nike for their honest and powerful “Voices” campaign? The more we show Nike that we support and love this ad campaign, the more likely Nike is to keep doing campaigns like it. But if we don't, they could go back to the usual sexist advertising we usually see.
