Tell SiriusXM: Drop Megyn Kelly
The petition to SiriusXM reads:
I'm appalled that SiriusXM continues to platform Megyn Kelly after she minimized Jeffrey Epstein's sexual abuse of children on air. Her attempt to distinguish between types of pedophilia is indefensible and harmful. Drop Megyn Kelly immediately, or I will cancel my subscription and encourage others to do the same.
Megyn Kelly just went on air and minimized Jeffrey Epstein's sexual abuse of children.
On her SiriusXM show, Kelly questioned whether Epstein was a pedophile. She did so by trying to split hairs about what actually makes someone a pedophile--claiming that Epstein "wasn't into, like, eight-year-olds," but preferred "15-year old girls" who were "barely legal.”
Let's be absolutely clear: There is no acceptable distinction here. Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused children. Full stop. Any attempt to minimize that abuse is unconscionable.
More than 1,000 women, who were young girls during the time of their abuse, survived Epstein’s child sex-trafficking and abuse network. Some have taken their own lives because of the lifelong trauma that the abuse caused. Their lived experiences are horrific and should be taken extremely seriously.
When media personalities with massive platforms like Megyn Kelly downplay child sexual abuse, they:
- Normalize predatory behavior
- Minimize the trauma of survivors
- Create cover for abusers by making their crimes sound less serious
- Reinforce rape culture that already fails to protect children
That’s why Kelly's comments aren't just offensive--they're dangerous. It’s time for SiriusXM to cut all ties with Kelly and drop her show.
