GOP Leaders: Denounce the "Slap Hillary" game

Letter to Republican leaders:

Dear Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, Senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker John Boehner,

As you must know by now, a Republican Super PAC known as The Hillary Project has put up an online game asking supporters to virtually slap Hillary Clinton. In fact, this Super PAC is so proud of their game that they are eagerly asking reporters, "Have you slapped Hillary today?"

We are sure you will agree that violence against women is no laughing matter. Jokes about slapping women--of ANY party--ought to have no place in our politics.

We are asking you today to please unequivocally condemn this online game and to affirm that advocating violence against women is unacceptable.

A woman is assaulted or beaten every 9 seconds in our country--and more than three women are murdered every day by their partners or boyfriends. When we excuse "games" that make fun of abusing women, we perpetuate a culture that allows violence against women to stand, and that's wrong. We should all strive for a better nation.

Respectfully,

The backlash against the "Slap Hillary" online game has been huge. But now it's time to turn up the pressure. Prominent conservative leaders like Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker John Boehner have yet to condemn this offensive game. And it's time for them to end their silence.

Today, we're releasing a letter to these Republican leaders asking them to unequivocally condemn this game. We'd love to have your signature on the letter when we release it to press. Can you add your name right away?
