Subject: Tell President Joe Biden to publish the Equal Rights Amendment! Hi, friend! I just signed a petition with the gender justice organization UltraViolet Action urging President Biden to instruct the U.S. archivist to certify and publish the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). https://act.weareultraviolet.org/sign/ERA_publication_2024?source=taf The ERA was conceived by the women suffragists who secured the right--at least for white women--to vote in 1920. Many of the barriers women face today--from attacks on reproductive rights to unequal pay for the same work done by men--could have been avoided if we were even mentioned in the Constitution. We currently are not. The ERA has garnered the necessary support from 38 states for ratification--it just needs to be certified and published. President Biden and his political party, both of which have enjoyed the majority support of women voters, need to show up for women NOW before the incoming administration and get the ERA certified and published immediately.
