More than 2,300 kids have been taken by the government so it can prosecute and jail parents for bringing their families to safety. Courts are under pressure to deny asylum to women fleeing domestic abuse and gang violence. All while Trump's immigration agents are abducting, detaining, and deporting immigrants living in our communities.
Although these human rights atrocities are happening under Trump's orders, constituents should urge their members of Congress to do more. Congress can use its oversight authority to stop separating families, defund Trump's out-of-control immigration agencies carrying out these atrocities, and oppose any bill that will worsen this crisis--like the two bills in Congress right now that will put even more immigrant families in detention.
