Sandra Bland's arrest in the days before her death shouldn't have happened.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the arresting officer violated procedure. State legislators said she "shouldn't have been taken into custody.” AND there is video footage of Officer Brian Encinia pointing his taser at Bland, yelling, "I will light you up.”

Sandra Bland is dead because Encinia abused his authority. But he hasn’t been held accountable.

Every day Encinia doesn't face accountability is an insult to Sandra Bland's life and memory. That's why we're demanding Waller County District Attorney Elton Mathis to do his job and prosecute Officer Brian Encinia. Can you sign the petition?
